I stayed I stayed at the Backpacker's Inn for 6 nights, and it was relaxed, friendly and there was a terrific camaraderie among the guests. I had a private room ($60/night) with a TV and a fridge Accommodations are simple with few frills, but the bed was comfortable and the staff seemed to go out of their way to assure my comfort. There's a kitchen downstairs of the Blue Building, adjacent to the TV room, a fun gathering place.
Great place I cannot say enough great things about this place. I just visited Alaska for my spring break- not the wisest choice since there isn't too much to do in Anchorage when everything is covered with snow and you don't have a car! Nice touch I thought this was a good hostel. The owner was incredibly helpful and accommodated every request. They even carried my luggage. The bathrooms were clean and HUGE. I thought the security was (building and room locks) was standard and sufficient- bring a lock for your in-room locker. The kitchen was really big, the common areas were comfortable. Awesome These guys are so awesome!! No complaints here, love what they've got going on! When we needed more towels, they were up within minutes.
