I was put into this facility in 2015. I went by the name "Jose Aguilar." When I was checked in I was so homesick that I wouldn't eat. Then this very nice lady named Mrs.A (as we called her) let me talk to my grandmother to feel a little bit better. There were some staff that were very nice such as Mr.josh, Mrs.A, Mrs.jamica. This is the absolute worse place to be in the staff are so mean towards the patients they don't answer questions and abuse those who need treatment. A girl was vomiting because of her gal bladder and a guy had to be taken to the hospital for copd at the last moment. It's absolutely filthy with scorpions, flies gnats and roaches. They do clean but not the trash and they use such harsh chemicals it's hard to breath. The staff will yell at you and it's so boring only allowed to color and watch television. ABOUT A YEAR AGO I GRADUATED FROM STONINGTON. I WAS THERE FOR 2 MONTHS. SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN LIVING IN A SOBER HOUSE, WORKING , AND ENJOYING MY LIFE, SOBER.. I CANT THANK THEM STAFF ENOUGH FOR ALL THEIR HELP, PARTICULARLY THE STAFF AT BRAINARD HOUSE. SINCERELY, LAURA
This is an institution, they play it up and make it seem like your child is in great hands and they are going to take care of all your needs!!! Do not leave your child here!! I was never able to get the doctor on the phone, called everyday, my daily calls that were allowed were always cut short and never the full time, and then upon discharge we were cut off cold turkey, no follow up, and no appointments available with their doctors for 2-3 months. So, they took my child off her meds, and then gave us no follow up or no dire... read more
Worst hospital ever, I will be sure and tell everyone I know that they do not take care of business!!!! They can't seem to keep records straight and do not care at all for the people that are in there for serious help. I have even gone as far as to call the medical board and channel 4 news!!!!! Get ready Mayhill.
Excellent Service
West Oaks hospital helped my sister and was extremely helpful and compassionate towards our family. They equipped us with resources upon discharge and the outpatient services wrote great.
