It was our first time visiting and overall, great experience. Food and drink were awesome, but I think the restaurant suffers from imposture syndrome. Stop trying so hard to impress us with the chef’s credentials. We already did our research if we booked at your restaurant. Me and my husband had an exceptional experience at akin. From the moment we walked through the doors till we stepped out, every single moment was well thought out and intentional. The menu we experienced was inspired by Chinese take out. Every single dish was spot on and definitely has Eric’s twist to it. Hot and sour soup was so good I wish there was more! Overall a great experience, we had kids with us and they enjoyed the meal too.
The food was quite good but not worth the price based on my overall experience. Some dishes were really good and some missed the mark and were lacking in flavour. The main reason for the low score was based on my experience with the GM, Mike. The staff that served the table were all very courteous and professional except for Mike. He came across as arrogant and it was quite obvious to myself and my girlfriend that he was staring at her for an uncomfortably long period.
