I fell and hit my head against a large piece of furniture. There was a huge amount of blood on my white living room carpet. After I got back home from the hospital I called Aftermath Scene Cleaning for a service assessment. They arrived and immediately pushed for removal of the carpet and possible removal of the subflooring. 3 technicians came to my home which seemed unnecessary until I realized they planned on carpet removal from the beginning. It was a terribly emotional time for the family. I hadn't ever had to deal with anything like this before. I had no knowledge of the process or any idea of cost. We googled and it was the first place that popped up in the search engine. I relied on them to be honest and know their area of expertise. I asked repeatedly if the only out of pocket expense would be the deductible. They repeatedly said yes. They deal with insurance companies all the time. Did not complete contract for $10,500.. Demanded overpayment for incomplete work. Would not accept insurance offer. Tried to get more money from insurance when they didn't even do the work specified in the contract. How can you send an invoice for more than the signed contract when you didn't even do the full scope of work listed on the signed contract? Rip offs they mopped up a small area of blood and were supposed to remove anything else that contained blood including baseboards and tile and carpet and subfloor doors etc..... read more

Absolutely terrible company! They bullied their way into our home and demanded that no price be discussed until after the work was completed. The bill was $30,000 to clean a small bathroom!!!
Aftermath is a predatory company that takes financial advantage of people and families at their weakest and most vulnerable moments. Do your research and contact your home owners insurance to find reputable and responsible companies to help you and that won't take advantage of you.
The Aftermath staff, from the original contact person who lined up a crew quickly, to the crew on scene, and office personnel weeks later, were all wonderful to work with. Their professionalism and compassion took a bit of the sting out of a difficult situation. They have also been very patient and helpful in dealing with the insurance claim. I highly recommend them.

Aftermath has done such an amazing job with cleaning the house in such a stressful situation. The people who worked with us had taken care of everything; they had calmed us down, posted the insurance claim, and after insurance denial, they charged only what they promised to charge at the time of signing the contract. Very professional and compassionate crew. I would strongly recommend them.
