Dr. Barnswell has been caring for our father for over 10 years. Words cannot express how satisfied our family is with all facets of his bedside manners, the time he takes to explain option to us, his professionalism, his caring and he is just a great human being and physician. He goes out of his way to make sure our Dad receives his treatment. His assistant and other staff is also very supportive and professional. Dr. Barnswell is a God send for our Dad! Definitely one of the best Dr's of this generation in listening to patient's concerns, great medical options, honest opinions, and follow through. Dr. Branswell has the 'What If" of healing allowing every patient the opportunity to be cured or live with great quality. I'm a healthcare professional with high expectations when it comes to people's lives and this professional gentleman's attitude and articulation is like a rare jewel. Terrible service , terrible bedside manner . Dr. Barnswell perfomed surgery on me that was supposed to be follwed up with another surgery two weeks later . Two weeks turned into almost two months . On the day of the procedure he was very rude and told me to find another urologists after I told him the almost two months of waiting time was unacceptable , not to mention a big mistake on his part with procedure protocol . I would never recommend him to anyone .

I've maybe left 1 negative review about anyone in my life, but Dr. Barnswell is very deserving of this. I spent over 2 hours waiting to be seen. After promising my results would come through in a week, he did not contact me unti 3 weeks later, when he hung up on me after I said he wasn't giving me enough info. My PCP to get the results so I didn't have to deal with him, and they wouldn't release the files for over a week. Much more happened, but no space to write it. Worst experience I've had.

His patience and personal touch. Shows genuine empathy, calm almost family like with patients. Absolutely the best listener I have ever met in the field of medicine....and as a hypochondriac, I have met a few. I was so impressed with his bedside manner I have since recommended him as the Go To' Urologist for NYC DOE Staff, if and when the need ever arise.

excellent physician; master diagnostician, easy-going manner
