While I was visiting my daughter in Franklin, TN, in January of this year, I had a problem with her dishwasher. I called A-1 Appliance, explained the problem, and asked them if they could send a Tech to repair it that day, which was a Friday, if at all possible. Techs came out for warranty repair, freezer that never functioned properly - refrigerator that ran warm, new refrigerator. The first tech didn't even look, just stated - you need a therostat, another company already replaced the thermostat which I had already told this tech. I pressed him to look more closely as I suspected there was an issue with the compressor or freon, he took some temperatures begrudgingly and stated yes, both units were way too warm but he could not troubleshoot any further he said he was not qualified.... read more

paid money for nothing!!! – Beware! They charged me $120 for doing nothing! I scheduled service online, and they called to confirm the appointment twice. The tech came out and was at my home for 15 mins. The repairs that were needed were going to cost more then buying a washing machine, so I asked him what I owed him for coming out. I expected to pay something, but $120!!!!! This charge was not listed on their website, nor was I told about it when the appointment was confirmed! Great Service! – I have never posted a review on citysearch before, but I just had to write and say how impressed I was with the customer service in the Service department at A-1. Dave came out to my house twice, both times at the beginning of his 2-hour window which seems to never happen anymore. He had to order parts for my refrigerator, so he was only able to give me a temporary fix. But only 2 days later he was back out with the part and did a great job fixing my refrigerator. They made things right! – I think in today's big-box, digital world, the concept of customer service and satisfaction is way too often forgotten. A-1 has made me think differently. They went out of their way, above and beyond to make things right. I received a personal call from the President of A-1 to fix a problem I had. You don't get that from the big-box chains. I would never shop with them again. – I purchased a new dishwasher, and paid $125 to have it installed. in the installation process, the tech accidentally disconnected the garbage disposal. when I finally figured out what had happened, I called A1, and asked them to come fix it. They told me that it wasn't possible, that the tech said he hadn't touched the garbage disposal. I pulled the dishwasher out myself, and I was correct, he disconnected the garbage disposal. Very happy with my purchase – Tom...... Thank you soooo much for filling out and mailing my rebate forms.....I really do appreciate your effort.
