Exceptional from the start! – From the beginning, I had the best experience on the purchase of my new kitchen appliances! The salesman was very nice, polite and knowledgeable. He was never pushy or tried to sell me. He asked a lot of questions about how I would be using my kitchen and what my favorite appliance was. ( it's the pro-style range). After we bought them, he sent by email all of our measurements and dimensions so we could give them to our contractor. The appliances came in sooner than we needed them but the store ... read more

Buyer beware – Washer breaks - they come out to repair. It's not repairable so I need to purchase a new one - fast! Repair guy is nice enough and recommends a Fisher & Paykel. As does the salesman when I visit the store the next day. I purchase the machine - they give me a "discount" on the price and deliver the next day. Weeks later, they run an ad for a FREE dryer with the purchase of a washing machine (the same exact one I purchased just weeks before!), AND a slightly better price on the washer!!. I call the store and tal... read more

Waiting To See – I just purchased a dishwasher from A-1. It wasn't cheap but the salesman made the case that we were looking at a dishwasher that should provide superior cleaning and efficiency married with a high level of reliability and durability. I did a separate set of research and decided to go ahead with the purchase. The dishwasher works right now but I'm starting to have some question marks about the commitment to customer service. I'll report back as I see issues become clearer.

Avoid A-1 – It cost me $410 to have the icemaker on a $1,000 refrigerator fixed. Long story short. Technician comes out to check out the refrigerator and says we need one part, maybe two. Second technician comes out a month later with both parts. Says it took that long to order the parts, however I found them on-line and available immediately with no shipping costs when I checked. Second technician installs both parts, I?m pretty sure without considering whether both were needed. I was charged a trip charge of $99, labor of ... read more

Terrible customer service – The service department never answers their telephone. You have to leave a message for them in order to set up service. I left 7 messages in 3 days (including 2 messages for Jeremy, the service manager) to set up a service appointment for my washing machine. I still do not have an appointment time for service. Ridiculous! A lot of dirty laundry can pile up waiting for this company to return your phone call. Most businesses hire a person to answer phone calls, or they strive to return your phone cal... read more

Most helpful appliance people in town – After calling all over town trying to find a part for my washer, and being called "sweetheart" and "honey" by people who weren't helpful (especially at Marcone), I called A-1. Matt didn't have my part, but he was plesant and gave me the number to GE parts, and I was able to get the part I needed. (No woman attempting to fix a washing machine herself she have to put up with being called "Sweetheart" by a strange man.)

repairman charges for non-repairs, salesman has an attitude – My mom's washing machine broke down, A-1 came out to fix it, charged well over $100. The next day something was leaking, she called them again, the repairman came out, said she had an irreparable problem, and she would need a new machine. Why did he not spot that the first time? Even the A-1 man who delivered our new machine a few days later said he should have spotted that. The repairman "generously" did not charge for the second visit, but she was still stuck wi... read more

Big Name for such a disappointing service quality – This was probably one of the worst experiences I've had with a service company. They were unable to order parts in a timely manner, what was supposed to take a couple of days turned into 2 weeks, and for whatever reason were very unpleasant, and had quite an attitude whenever you asked questions or needed some answers. They were never able to properly getin touch with their techs. For a company that has been around for a while, they sure seem to be headed in the wrong direc... read more
