Great steak house and great people!!
A blizzard caused us to make an unplanned stop in Des Moines and this chophouse was near our hotel. I’m so glad we stopped! This meal is one of the top 5 meals I’ve ever had. From the appetizers, to the steaks and scallops, to the dessert and even the cocktails, everything was a 10 out of 10. Our server, Zack, was absolutely awesome. He explained the menu thoroughly, made perfect suggestions, and was wonderful to talk with. We felt like his only table! We will make Des Moines a regular stop from now on just to eat at 801.
Service is phenomenal and the food is second to none
My husband and I have enjoyed the Des Moines - 801 Chophouse twice now and both times have been phenomenal! The food and service are both worth the trip. We enjoy our anniversary dinner here each year. ❤️

I get full quickly, can't eat alot all at once. The bill was $200.00+. I asked to have the leftovers boxed, and was told no. The owner came out and said 'I can't allow that '. WTF!?! I paid for it, it's mine. I was treated like a peasant for asking such a question. Never going back again. It's just food, for Chrissake. Never going back again.
