Nice surprise – With the intention of dining at the Asteroid, we stumbled upon the bistro because of its inviting decor, while trying to find a parking spot. We were seated promptly, with no reservation, and were very pleased with our choice. The cheese plate was beautiful, the honeycrisp pear salad was refreshing and the trout was cooked perfectly. The portions were were surprisingly generous. The service was a bit slow but overall freindly. We will be back.
Oui! – Now this is a great restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable and it all made for an entirely enjoyable evening. I'd love to come back every week with a friend or just a good book, order a big bowl of mussels and a glass of wine and enjoy every last bite. I don't think this place could ever get old.
Best Cheese Plate in Town – I can't get enough of the artisan cheese platter at this place--it is served the way I like it: TONS of cheese. In addition to the chef's selection of six, well-sized hunks of cheese, you are also presented with ample bread and fine fruit spreads and honey to pair as you see fit. Wines by the glass are decently priced and the staff is always more than helpful in helping one decide what would go best with their food.
Great Food and Wine – I'm not able to recommend many restaurants to my well-traveled friends. Most of the Belltown scene is all trend and no substance. 35th Bistro is a place I recommend to even the most jaded foodie I know. It has this amazing wine list and a well balanced menu that, for nearly every time I've been there, has been well prepared and delicious. I think the wait staff makes a pretty good attempt at being informed and seem to really be proud of their food. I think the lunch service is excellent and have stopped... read more
Darling space but food disappointing. – Having moved to the Queen Anne/Fremont area this summer, I am still in the honeymoon phase of trying out all the local eateries. On my list for weeks had been Fremonts 35th Street Bistro, and perhaps my experience there last night suffered because Id let my expectations become too high. The space itself is darling, with high ceilings, eclectic wood furniture, and a large ficus tree central to the dining room. Water is served from unique long-neck bottles, and the service polite if not ... read more
Excellent! – I called this restaurant for a table for 7 on a Friday night - yes, the time of reservation was early but I was really expecting a No due to such short notice and size of party; however, to my surprise, they were able to get us in. When we got there at around 5:30/5:45, we were taken to our table in the 'banquet room' - really more of an alcove off the dining room, but a great little space and perfect for our birthday group. I am confused about the other reviews here as to service. We were treated famously - and... read more
Sad but true – It's sad but true that no matter how good the food is (the menu lived up to The Seattle Times glowing review), bad service will terminate any musings of return visits. I called the restaurant as we were walking down Fremont last Friday evening confirming that they could take a party of four for appetizers and drinks (10:40pm). The gentleman on the phone sounded delighted, but were greeted by a bothered server. There was another 4 top and a 2 top in the dining room and a fairly full bar, so I felt confident we ... read more
Avoid Like the Plague – Yesterday we went here for dinner based on the positive review in the paper. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. The food was cold, my wife's vegetarian meal had pancetta in it(!), and my salmon was undercooked. Add to the less than desireable cuisine, the restaurant's high ceilings -- voices echo so effectively here that it was nearly impossible to have a conversation with yelling. Save your money.
Classic Bistro – The 35th St. Bistro carries itself like a true modern French bistro, not a cartoon-rendition. Yes, the fries are excellent, as they should be, but so were our elegant salads and entrees, and the wine list is very carefully selected, with unusual, excellent options. The food, wine, and ambiance all work together for a dining experience we don't see many other places.
35th Street Bistro has a 3.3 star rating with 57 reviews.
