Would definitely recommend! – I went here for a romantic dinner last weekend and was pleasantly surprised from the beginning. We were promptly seated under the lit tree. The restaurant has a very warm cozy feel, alot of charm. I had the beet salad which was good, but I may have had overly high expectations from the prior reviews. My boyfriend had the tuna carpaccio which was flavorful but the olives completely overpowered the tuna. I HIGHLY recommend the Muscovy Duck and steak frites... they really know how to do the classic... read more
What's all the fuss about? – I thought the food was very average. One big yawn and bill. I wouldn't go back even if someone else was paying. Okay, maybe if someone else was paying.
Always good – The fries--excuse me, the "bistro frites"--are the stuff of fantasy, covered in creme fraiche, I could eat them all night. Them, and the cheese plate (huge, and with tasty things like chocolate shavings, jams and other treats along with 5 generous portions of cheese), and teh happy hour specials at the bar, are enough to keep me coming here long after I moved away from Fremont. But the dinner specials should also not be overlooked. They try to do organic and seasonal I think, and the results are always stellar-... read more
Bad service – i went there for a friend's birthday. The food wsas cold after an hour wait. After talking with mgt. we were given a credit for $20 only! The total bill was over $150! My food was cold then reheated in a microwave! How is a restaurant still in business with these practices! I will NEVER go back. I highly recomend you do the same. I have never been so unhappy with service.
Business response:
We are sincerely sorry about your experience at the Bistro. We pride ourselves in making sure every guest has a (positively) memorable experience, even when something goes awry. If you would be so kind as to tell us the date and, if you had a reservation, the name, so that we might look into the situation further. You may email us directly at info *AT* 35bistro.com. By the way, we would NEVER microwave anything. We don't even have one in the kitchen. I hope we will hear from you again. Kindest Regards, Bob Day, proprietor
I've been there twice and I plan on going back as often as I can. It's absolutely spectacular. The menu changes but you really can't go wrong. The Oregon Lamb Flank is sensational and the creme brulee is wonderful. The atmosphere is very warm and comforting, you feel like you're in Nice. The service is wonderful except be sure to not be in a hurry, it's a traditional, European sense of dining.
Great neighborhood feel! – We came in at 7:00 without restervations and lucked out with one of the last tables. We had great wine picked out by our server and enjoyed everything! My boyfriend ordered the Chicken and was an excellent dish!!! The duck was fantastic. However the best thing of the night was the Beet salad different and very light. I could eat that dish everyday! Thanks to the 35th street Bistro!
In a league of its own – I've been coming to 35th St. Bistro for a little more than a year now but have never bothered to write about it. I love the place!! From lunch and brunch to dinner and "in between" it's all great! This is one of the few spots in Seattle where I can take a client, a date, or my mom! I've loved getting to know a few of the friendly faces there and and also getting to know the menu since I moved to Fremont. As the season turns to fall, I just know that they will change along with it. They use local and ... read more
Best breakfast in Seattle – My boyfriend and I cannot figure out how the 35th Street Bistro did not win the Best Breakfast in Seattle! I LOVE their eggs benedict and bellinis & bloody marys to drink. The croque madame is also fabulous. We haven't had anything there we didn't like. If you love breakfast/brunch, try this place! It is seriously better than many of the restaurants on the "Best of Citysearch" list for breakfast-- and believe us, we've tried (almost) every one!
Delighted – After moving to Fremont recently I have been anxiously awaiting a dinner out with my boyfriend in our new neighborhood. The bistro had been catching our eyes. We arrived early for our reservation and anticipated a wait by the look of the full dining room. Welcomed to the bar to wait we were barely half of the way through our drinks when our table opened up. (the ginger mohito was amazing!) We started with scallops that were seared just the way that I always try for but can never get that perfect, then the best be... read more
