1909 Temecula is a tribute to the Machado building, the location where the restaurant and bar now lives. Well before the 1909 burger was created, this structure has been home to a trading post, livery, auto shop and most notably a bar. During the 70's, the Longbranch Saloon was known as the roughest place in town to get a drink. Locals often stop in and tell stories of brawls and shootings. Not a bad start. Have been twice...first time was mid afternoon before the crowds showed up. Service was great. The bartender came took the time to deliver my bevereage personally, and the food was enjoyable (sausage plate & home made chips). Came back Friday night, and it was less enjoyable. Hour and a half wait for a table...we got a table in the bar quickly, though. What a treat !! Ate there for my first time last Wednesday for lunch. Had the 1909 Burger (cooked to order BTW) and a fruit salad (with mint and ginger). This is all about letting a creative chef (Chef Daniels) do his thing. This reminds me of the movie "Chef". Let the chef be creative and we all reap the rewards :). Great, Great, Great job. Keep it up!!
