I must say the sauce was very good. The ribs and brisket were extremely dry and no flavor. Worst I've had in town. The ice tea was awful had to send it back. Very small portions for the price and no bread. I am from KC and this place needs some help. Other than the sauce and service, the food is crap.

Takes BBQ to a higher level! Great pulled pork and jalapeño cheddar sausage (not too hot). Service is excellent! Defiantly worth a try!!

As a Kansas City native, 18th and Vine is legit KC BBQ. It's clear the Pit Master knows what he's doing. The Dizzy (Gillespie) pulled pork was perfectly seasoned and tender. The slaw on the side was a great complement - not too tart and not too sweet. The (Count) Basie was perfectly smoked and the jalapeños added just enough heat. Great BBQ sauce that balances TX and KC styles. The decor is welcoming and has a great jazzy vibe.

Business response:

Megan Smith You're too good to us. Thanks for the stamp of approval...and for knowing who Dizzy & Basie are. Ha.

Matt has done a spectacular job with the que, I say the Roost upstairs is set up so you think you're chillin in someone's basement (miss this down here in Dallas too ). I've been at least 4 times & will definitely continue going. Everything I've had is delicious brisket, ribs, pulled pork, grilled cheese brisket sandwich, fried okra and... read more

Love this place! Friendly, informative and outgoing staff. Delicious brisket sandwich and jalapeño cheese grits. Our daughter loved the ribs, strawberry soda and homemade ice cream. We will be back....SOON!
