Big problems with management over the years, but current management is a major improvement. John Taylor is trying hard to make things run more smoothly, and JaVonni Brustow is seriously committed to making this a nicer place to live. Thanks to both of them.
Javonni gave me a tour of a couple 2 bedrooms apartments. He was excellent. He is very knowledgable and he answered all of my questions.
Do not move here, non stop issues with cockroaches and mice. Other tenants have issues with plumbing, water shut offs, ac & heating. The elevators, laundry and trash chute are always out of service. These issues would be solved with drastically better building maintenance. To top it off management is so frustrating, the issues never got solved just patched up for a week or two until they happen again. Stay away!
I recently visited 1841 Columbia and was really impressed by the modern apartments and the incredible rooftop. And the location really is one of the best in Adams Morgan with plenty of restaurants on the block. A big thanks to JaVonni Brustow, who gave me a last-minute tour and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He helped make the process smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend checking out 1841 Columbia if you're looking for a new place.
Have had a really challenging time at 1841 Columbia since I moved in last year. I was initially worried about the reports of pests/bugs, but didn’t have too much of an issue with that in my apartment. My biggest complaint is management being ill-equipped to handle a very old building in need of repairs. My room was without a working AC/Heating unit for six months, including winter months, and it was only fixed after a lawsuit and court order.
