Great Customer service – I recently visited 18 Seaboard while in Raleigh. There were four generations at our table. The waiter was extremely patient with us and provided us with a lot of helpful information about the ingredients in the food. He also went out of his way to accommodate even the youngest at the table. The food was well prepared and delicious. It was a wonderful place for four generations to meet for lunch. There was something for everyone! The chicken salad was delicious and my favorite.
A great value dining experience! – 18 Seaboard offers a great selection, and high quality food. It is also a great representation of North Carolina cuisine. There is a great drink selection at a reasonable price. I have only eaten here twice, but truly enjoyed it both times and consider it a real treat. The fried green tomatoes and cheddar grits are excellent! Our service was great and I love the atmosphere! Anyone that is dissatisfied with the amount of food is use to overly large portions!! I have left full and satisfied on... read more
Great menu and very affordable – My wife and I dined at 18 Seaboard last night for the second time and once again were most impressed. Both visits the restaurant was very busy and the service was extremely efficient. My wife's Salmon dish was cooked perfectly and my pork dish was the most interesting I have had in Raleigh. For the both of us with wine our check was less the 55$. We shared a dessert of hot chocolate cake in a coffee mug that was a great finish but very rich. We will be back.
An unbelievable value! Try the Salmon – My wife and I dined at 18 Seaboard last night for the second time and were once again very impressed. The food is interesting but not over the top with lots of choices and a section of the menu that even allows you to chose your own items for the dish. The service was friendly and effecient especially for how busy the restaurant was on a Tuesday night. The detail we were most impressed with was how resonable the prices are.
Right on – After having eaten at 18 Seaboard several times, I can safely say this place is right on! The ambiance is hip and inviting and the staff welcoming. On our last visit, my fiance and I dined outside at a table that overlooked downtown. Great view with one drawback, it is non smoking, but the bar is not far. Our server was knowledgable, friendly and eager to make suggestions for food and wine. Goat cheese fondue and a wedge to start were the right pre-cursors to our choices of pork shank with blue cheese grits and ho... read more
Great Place to Gather – I frequent 18 Seaboard due to the outstanding service I receive the moment I walk in the door. It is refreshing to be greeted with a smile and seated as quickly as possible even on a busy night. I enjoy the variety of foods offered on the menu as well as a choice of different sauces to enhance the dinner. While I am always pleased with the main entrees, I try to save room for one of the chef's great desserts. I know I will be back because I have never been disappointed in the food or the service I hav... read more
Delicious! – Delicious: I was at 18 Seaboard not long ago with a large group of women. We all found the resturant to be delightful, loved the open look, and the food was delicious. The wait staff was very helpful with our selection of dinner wines and took very good care of us. We all tried something different, with no complaints. The owner/chef visited our table to make sure our selections were to our liking. I do not live in Raleigh, but eat at 18 Seaboard whenever I am in town and will continue to do so. The food is alway... read more
Over-hyped – After seeing great reviews on this restaurant both in the paper and here on Citysearch I just had to try it last night. I just don't see what all the fuss is about. The owner obviously spent a lot of money on this restaurant, it looks like it is in a building that was once a warehouse on a side street. It looks great on the inside, really tall ceiling with interesting lights hanging, exposed brick, nice bar area and nice table settings. They even have a pretty hostess to seat you. But then we opened our menus, a... read more
Bustling and popular – The art gallery next door is a nice precursor to a dining experience at 18 Seaboard. At the right time of the eve, enjoy! Objectively, it has all of the right stuff--high ceilings and dark wood, contemporary design, unusual wine list, and an upscale, experimental menu with an NC twist. The highlights of the evening were the goat cheese fondue, spot-on wine recommendations, the pork shank with grits, and the pom-tonic creation. The dampers? Seating mid-dining room (acoustically challenging and a little ... read more
