I've had repeated great service from 1st Light. I went to them 8 or so years ago after a failed attempt to go with another company. (no longer remember who) Knowledgeable salesperson gave realistic expectations which were all met. Installation team did excellent work. Fast forward to this year to when I needed the panels temporarily removed to have my roof replaced as part of a renovation. THE WORST COMPANY EVER! They are trying to send me a bill for a cash price purchase to be paid upon completion. They started in October of last year after I gave them the money to build the system ( over $7,000) should have been my first clue. Most companies should be able to pay for equipment for a job. We have tried numerous times to schedule whatever was needed to get this job done only to be ignored. We were actually excited about it. Worst experience with any company ever. This company has taken me for a ride. I've been charged approx. 4x what the system should have cost me based on my research. I was pressured into signing a contract. Seems like they pocketed the CT rebate into their pockets> Misrepresented the rebates and was told i would never pay an electric bill again>

Purchased a solar system from these guys due to them being in business the longest. Penili came to my house and gave me an honest explanation of how solar works. The price he gave me was the best price I found and am very pleased with the process from sales to installation. Obviously if the city approved my flat roof application sooner it would have been better but that is outside their control.

If it sounds to good to be true it is.I was sold on energy tax credits and income tax benefits all which were misrepresented to me.I was left with all the huge credit debt for all the repairs and work needed to install there system, and none of there promises were true. Even some of the workmanship was poor.I am left with a 25 yr.debt for the benefit of what appeared to be a financial gain.gain of $100. a month. Buyer beware.

I had a great experience working with 1st Light Energy. From the first phone call to schedule an appointment to the final install. Every step of the way I was always informed of were we stood. If I had a question I would either email or call and I always received a response quickly. From our first meeting until we were able to flip the switch took almost 1 year but it was PSE&G that was holding everything up. 1st Light Energy worked hard with PSE&G and kept us informed of what was going on with the process. A 1st Light energy rep approached my door a few months ago explaining the solar program here in NY and how it lowers the cost of electricity. The whole process took about 3 months, so I've been on and running for a little over 3 months now and I'm seeing a big difference in my bill. I have a 12 yr loan to own the solar and the payment is a good amount less than my old con ed level payment plan.
