A SAD PLACE COMPARED TO THE HONEYBEAR – Not recommended. Though the lattes are decent, the atmosphere is creepy. Students hunched over computers, unfriendly staff, no community feeling, no parking.

Award-winning barista skills – A friend of mine took me here because he said the barista?s at Zoka had won awards for their intricate foam designs. I didn?t understand what he meant until I picked up my latte from the bar and it had a heart made out of espresso and milk. I even took a picture of it I was so impressed! The place was packed. We went on a random Wednesday night but practically every seat was filled so we ended up getting the rest of our order to go and headed back home.

Best drip coffee in Seattle – Though it's impossible to get a table here, I still find myself at Zoka a few times per week for their dark, rich drip coffee. Totally worth the trip. They also have an amazing selection of teas, and the pastries, cakes and sandwiches in the cases always look delectable.

Worst Service and no where to sit – I can see Zoka from my house window , but I would never go back. The place has terrible service, the baristas have endless conversations amongst themselves, there is never anywhere to sit due to students with laptops squatting all the tables and honestly, their coffee is not that much better than Starbucks or Mighty O Donuts across the street. Do yourself a favor and skip this joint.

good place, but can be crowded...most of the time – oh, and bring your laptop just to fit in...lots of people study here...lots of tables but it still gets packed and filled up consistently...

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!! – I live within walking distance from Cafe Zoka and I would rather drive to get my morning coffee than spend my money there! There is never any place to sit--all tables are snatched up early by students and lap-top professionals camping out for hours and hours. The baristas are extreamly rude, paying more attention to conversations beetween co-workers than customers. My advice to the management and owners of Zoka coffee: Spend more time teaching customer service then how to make the "perfect' cup of joe!

Quality coffee and a work-conducive atmosphere at this friendly Tangletown coffee shop. – In Short The laptop-to-person ratio is extremely high, as students and computer-toting professionals camp out at the cozy tables for hours, drinking coffee and frantically typing. The large, dark-paneled room feels like the hippest library on the block, with assorted table sizes and a long curved bar nicely breaking up the space. Coffee is roasted onsite and is strong and complex; a long list of teas and baked goodies are also available... read more

Have you tried University Zoka? – I have never been to the Green Lake Zoka, but I really like the University Zoka. The atmosphere is laid back, the service is quick (and attractive!), and the coffee and scones are to die for. Really my only gripe are the WiFi squatters. I like that the staff doesn't bug them them too much, but they should at least be required to share tables. I hate it when I can't find a seat because there's one computer user at every table. They should do what Victrola does on the weekends and cut the WiFi... read more

Why all of the bashing? – Yes, granted Zoka is a busy place, filled with a lot of students and business professionals alike, but people like myself who live in the neighborhood have come to expect that. I remember hearing once that one of the great things about Zoka is that they focus on quality...I expect to wait for that killer coffee that I receive every day. The entire staff knows my name and knows about the happenings of my life from probably the past 3 years. There is a strong sense of community in Zoka. The staff are ... read more
