Dr.Zimmer performed a surgery in 2017 from which I am still having complications. I suffered a serious infection after the surgery and when I went to the ER,I learned that he no longer had privileges at the hospital where he still represented himself as a practicing physician. Bad advice from him followed, as well as absolutely no regard for the complications and implications of this event. Recently had a second surgery (by another surgeon) to correct the nerve damage from what Dr. Zimmer did
I have been a patient for many years and have complete confidence in the Dr. He is patient, kind and took the time to listen. I am sure that is why he was running late. Anything good is worth waiting for.
Excellent care... able to operate on foot and give back use, mobility and pain free.. Orthopedic surgeons in Williamsburg said would have to live with arthritis from previous surgery on injured foot... he fixed the problem these Williamsburg witch doctors could not or would not do.
I saw Dr. Zimmer in 2014 when I was having foot numbness and pain. My family physician suspected Gout and my visit was to verify that diagnosis. Dr Zimmer took a look, did not do any testing, said it wasn't Gout ... was in and out of his office in a couple of minutes or less. Was subsequently seen by another specialist who ran tests and confirmed the Gout diagnosis. Would never recommend Dr. Zimmer to anyone.
I found Dr. Zimmer to be very caring & interested in my problem. He does what many doctors do not do today. He listens to you.
Excellent experience with Dr. Zimmer. He was recommended to me by two of my physician friends that he is the best foot and ankle surgeon in town and I trust him and his judgement. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I also like that I see him and not just whoever is available in the office, I appreciate getting the care of a Mayo Clinic trained physician. He does not rush. I have had excellent results, and others I know who have seen him have had excellent results, with no complaints.
He did a terrible surgery work on my foot I had to go to another surgeon to fix it. Even so the swelling for his surgery will not fully go back to normal Biggest mistake I made
I believe that he ruined my foot. I have had subsequent surgeries by a different surgeon to correct it.
Saw for a known problem, he found "problem I didn't have". My gut said no, why fix something that isn't broken? This 2nd issue required much post-op discomfort, recovery, and 2nd surgery. Apt. wait at least 30-45 min. & several times hour+. Best orthopod personality (most are robot/mechanics, I've seen more than 10) & good once you see him, but find 1 who values YOUR time & runs less of a "mill." Patients need to push back about wait times, not be sheep. Wish I'd seen healthgrades before.
