oh no! I went here with high hopes and even gave it a second and third chance always the same, poor service, nice outdoor settings, rude servers, not fond of the indoor setting, not to clean inside, the food was always awfull, the chips were always stale, i once even got moldy salsa mmmmmm... that ended my attempts at this one, drive down the road a bit and go to white castle, its cleaner and better service!
Best Mexican in town..... Zapatas is your best choice for Mexican food if you wish to stay in Collinsville, but honestly I would recommend a neighboring town instead of this eatery. The food is average at absolute best; I have had some dishes that were fairly good but others that were simply awful. Overall - this is just not a place I look forward to eating at. The only choice in town As far as Mexican restaurants go, Zapata's is the only place I enjoy in town. However, in the last couple months the quality has declined quite a bit. The food used to be delicious, now they seem to improvise with things and it just isn't quite what it used to be. The fajitas I had just two nights ago were smothered in some sort of bland red sauce, and the cold plate of toppings was not a bit fresh. Food's Excellent Customer Service Needs Alot of Work The food at this restaurant is really, really excellent. I have had several items from their menu....dips, appetizers, entrees...everything was great. But the customer service on the other hand is AWFUL. The staff is rude and slow. They would rather chat amongst themselves than get their customer another drink refill or ask if anything is needed. I completely stopped eating in and switched to take out because of the rudeness.
