I've been trying to make the chicken tarna / Shawerma just as in this photo and getting close but nothing like Zankou
This Zankou location has been among my favorites. L.A. is a mecca of dining places but Zankou has been a favorite since 2003. Favorites are chicken tarna with toum (garlic sauce), falafel platter.
One of my favorite restaurants in all of Los Angeles. Get the chicken Shawarma mixed with the beef, extra garlic butter, extra pickled beets 🤠
Garlic paste. The chicken is already great, but you want garlic paste. Make sure your date has some too so you can kiss later.
