Slow Paced – I have been to Yuki three times and was semi pleased with the first two visits. The third, the customer service did not impress me. Attending Yuki with a friend, we stood in the doorway for minutes before being seated. The funny part, three employees saw us, and the place was almost empty. Our sushi took a very long time to order; the staff seemed to overlook us. Yuki is a great place for sushi, but the employee service could use a little work.
Best sushi in Portland – I've been to Yuki twice now, and both times the food has been amazing. The sushi is one of the best I've had in Portland, and the appetizers are delicious!
Never a let down – I have eaten at Yuki many times, and never have been disappointed. The fish is fresh, the rolls vary from typical to inventive and are always delicious, the tempura is perfect, and the service is always friendly. I confess I have never ordered a dinner, but then why bother when their sushi is so fantastic. The price is average compared to all sushi places in the area, and you never have to wait. Glamorous Sushi – Recommended by a co-worker, I was a little leary of this place, but very pleasantly surprised. This place had wonderful service. The people were very helpful and gave wonderful suggestions of what to order. The sushi took awhile to come to our table, but it was worth the wait. The presentation was fabulous, and the portions wore generous. I would recommend this place to a friend, but tell them it is more expensive then other places.
Mmm, sushi! Mmm, Toro! – I absolutely LOVE sushi and was certainly delighted. The deluxe sashimi was fresh and tasty with large pieces of fish (no skimping!), including two large and very creamy and wonderful pieces of toro in addition to regular tuna. The rainbow roll is a must-try! My sister was with me and does not eat sushi, but she was also well-pleased. Try the NY steak teriyaki, very well-cooked and nicely tender. Sushi with Taste! – Yuki makes sushi with taste! Rather than having to use a huge amount of washabi to generate a little heat Yuki takes care of you....The "Dynamite Salmon" roll is just that...saved a piece till the very end so it would be the lingering taste.... Imagine the Seaside roll...deep fried oysters with lettuce and an amazing spicey sauce...You want to start at the top of your menu and work down. And I stayed under my budget constraints!
Great Sushi – I sat at the sushi bar, and while the service may have been a bit more attentive (it was very busy, so understandable), the sushi was fantastic. They're sushi is as good as it gets for Portland.
