Not for me – Not living up to the hype. Waiters were very rude. Appetizers were plain and unappealing. Main course was barely better. Prices were waaaayyyyy too high.

Pretty Darn Good – I really have nothing bad to say about this place other than the prices. The service was solid. Food was decent. I like this place and will be returning sometime in the future.

Simply awful dining experience and overpriced to boot! – Let me start by saying that this is the first negative review I've ever written about a restaurant, and we eat out a few times a week. To start, while our waiter was very nice and accommodating (the one positive of the evening), there was a huge language barrier and he was unable to understand/answer some of our questions about the menu. Not worth it... – Sadly disappointed. The waiters hovered and kept rushing us, steaks were way too rare (not what we asked for) and food was way overpriced...

Truely Toll Worthy – Last night was the first night I have been there since the new management has taken over and I must say that the reputation of a Peter Lugers with out the 2 hour drive is well deserved. The presentation of steak as well as the quality ( which is now understood, after speaking to the manager, both Peter Lugers and Tollgate purchase from the same purveyor) The ambiance aspect that has been reviewed in the past as turn of the century has been over come by a new entrance as well as a fantastic new bar area. ... read more

Tollgate Steakhose - not worth the toll! – I took my family to Tollgate Steakhouse last night after reading the reviews on Citysearch. I have to say that I was very disappointed. I am generally an optimist and always find the best in any bad situation, but in the case of Tollgate Steakhouse, there is none. "Westchester's Best Kept Secret" – A group of co-workers and I recently made the trip from Stamford CT down to the Tollgate in Mamaroneck...Boy, was it worth the trip...The Portehouse's were excellent, great wine list , all the traditional steakhouse side dishes were perfect, and how can I forget, the service and atmosphere made us feel very comfortable...Great place for an excellent steak...No frills, No attitude, just a very enjoyable night out...

"Best Beef on the Market" – It's not to often that you can come across a great piece of "prime" beef...The quality at the Tollgate is incredible...It's amazing how consistent this steakhouse is...The filet mignon is always so tender, the porterhouse steak is always like butter, the spinach, the potatoes, service, EVERYTHING is just fantastic..
