Competent surgeon for hip replacement. Very poor post op physician encounter, unwelcoming of patient questions, quite unprofessional, even aggressive response to patient concerns. There are undoubtedly other competent surgeons with more caring and professional patient skills.
Dr Metwally did a total knee replacement on my right knee. It never worked right, was in physical therapy for 5 months and P.T. Kept saying something wasn’t right with it. But every time I had my appointments with Dr Metwally he kept telling me it was normal and to be patient. I finally got a second opinion from a reputable Orthopedic Surgeon and was told my knee cap is to tight, the ligaments were to short and that’s why it has NEVER gotten to the range of motion and never will. My hip was SO bad I could barely force myself to walk, using a walker in the house, wheelchair in town. Dr. Metwally replaced it and gave me back my life! Just a couple of hours after surgery I was walking WITHOUT PAIN! I had tears in my eyes because I could finally move without excruciating pain. He really did give me back my life and now, just shy of 2 months post surgery, I’m back to doing what I love most: gardening! Thank you Dr. Metwally! You are my life’s Angel.
I saw him about a hip problem 3 years ago. After looking at the X-ray and moving my leg around for about 30 seconds he told me I still have cartilage and don’t need surgery. He offered no diagnosis or help and really acted like he didn’t care.
Dr. Metwally was wonderful. He was very professional as well as caring and made me feel comfortable.He really went to bat for me as my insurance kept saying I did not meet the criteria for hip replacement. NOT GREAT, ONlY about 15 min appt, asked me to walk in exam room, didn't offer view of my exays, nor explain, much. Never given any Dr. Notes of visit at all. Only stated I needed Full Knee Replacement, no hurry, just call when you want to schedule surgery. Handed me a brochure with some instructions, That's It! WOW, NOT GREAT, Not gonna be my surgeon! This provider lied in the meeting notes sent to my primary care physician. For example, he felt surgery was a bad idea given probable long-term outcomes. However, the notes state I refused surgery. This is one of 3-4 items that are just blatantly wrong in the notes.
Complete lack of empathy from Metwally. I came because I have pain and instability daily due to an arthritic knee. I came away confused and with my hopes for a pain free life thrown to the ground. I don't know what his problem is but he shouldn't be in healthcare if he doesn't want to provide healthcare.
Today I had the good fortune of a consultation with Yaser Metwally. My knees are a mess. I have significant stability problems. Many providers claim miracle results. Given my lifestyle, Yaser Metwally determined that knee replacement was not a good solution for me as there are alternatives. This advice was given even though it resulted in the loss of two knee replacement surgeries. In conclusion, my opinion is that you can put your trust in him.
