The food was delicious and the value was good. However our service was extreme slow. We arrived when they opened so there were few customers in the restaurant. But it took forever for the waiter to wait on us, take our orders, bring our food, etc. He could be seen socializing with another employee many times during our wait.
After a day on the links I picked up my wife in Princeton and decided to try Yankee Doodle.....having grown up eating at great places like Peter Lugers, River Café under the Brooklyn Bridge and all the best Italian restaurants I wasn't expecting too much from a Tap Room style restaurant. I have to say the fish dinners both myself and my wife had were very good and I will be back whenever in the area. Service was friendly and attentive. Burgers were top notch. Would love to give 5 stars, but the coldly aloof hostess set a questionable tone at the beginning.
History oozes from every booth, table, and the bar. It is enchanting to imagine the conversations held over countless pints that had enormous impact upon our country.
Great burgers! Great selection of ice cold beers! Great service! Cool atmosphere
