I've had the pleasure of dining here several times. The food is, literally, to die for. And what's even more delicious is the view. All of Hollywood and Los Angeles is laid out before you, and on a clear night, it WILL take your breath away.
Chef Brock Kleweno has created an American inspired Japanese menu. The food is great and fresh. I recommend the Truffle Hamachi, Carnitas over Rice Cake, Kurobuta Pork, Darth Vader Roll and the Salt Encrusted Steak. The Strawberry Preserved filled Doughnut dessert is famous. I also like the special White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie with Amaretto Ice Cream
Wonderful atmosphere beautiful scenery strong drinks delicious food. Had a wonderful time service was great!!
I was going thru papers from the past - I found a brochure from Yamashiro. My husband and I were in Hollywood in the summer of 1967 and had dinner at Yamashiro. It was a wonderful evening for us. I decided to check on the internet to see if this restaurant is still there and serving people. What a wonderful surprise to learn that it is. My husband died in 1987 so this is just one of the great memories that I have of us being in California. The view from the Mountain Palace was beautiful and I am sure that is true today.
