In 2016, Dr Chung did a major spine surgery for me, correcting stenosis in the lumbar area with a laminectomy of L1-L5, correcting scoliosis in my lower spine, and lordosis, a condition in which vertebra slip forward and are not aligned properly, then fusing from S1 -T10. I recovered enough to be walking a mile within 5 weeks and have had no problems with the area where the surgery was performed. Waited to do this review until I evaluated results. Very satisfied and strongly recommend him.

Dr. Chung has done four surgeries for my family...all have been very successful although all were very serious and “unique”. Dr. Chung and his staff are exceptionally caring, brilliant and gifted. The time spent in appointments is positive and enthusiastic as well as thoroughly informative. My whole family has appreciated the wonderful care and support he has given us.
Not only is Dr. Chung an excellent surgeon, he is an extremely caring person. He listens, understands, and has empathy. He treats me as an individual which I have found is unusual in a surgeon. You are not a case but a person. He has cutting edge ideas and techniques. From before surgery to months after, you are being cared for. I have had other spine surgeries and did not get good results or after care. My recovery was quite long. Not with Cr. Chung.
I was very close to being in a wheelchair and through a friend I found Dr. Chung. He gave me hope and my life back. I had a dr 3 1/2 years earlier in COS who really messed me up and told me that I was the “3% that surgery didn’t work for.” I had an MRI and mylogram and he didn’t even read them correctly. However, Dr. Chung read them correctly and I quickly had surgery. Thru hard work I’m almost at a year and I’m doing fabulous! All thanks to Dr. Chung! He gave me my life back! ??
Dr. Chung is truly AWESOME! I had ACDF C5-C7 cervical spine surgery on October 5, 2018. All the surgical, hospital, and office staff were an encouraging helpful team for my successful surgery. Dr. Chung explained all pertinent information in understandable terms and answered every question. He is courteous and demonstrated his sincere desire to restore my damaged spine. Dr. Chung is a gifted surgeon and saved me from huge problems. I am truly grateful!
Dr. Chung and the staff at DISC are a rare find. Out of 5 surgeons I interviewed, they were more thorough than all others - in both taking the time to fully diagnose and explain my condition (including a full spine x-ray) and recommending the procedure that would give the best long term results (a hybrid 2-level CDR + 1-level ACDF vs. a 3-level ACDF). His billing staff spent hours and hours working with my insurance to approve this procedure. Dr. Chung truly cares about his patients.
