This BBQ shack has been featured on several national television shows because of the fact that its ribs, brisket and chili are some of the best in the country. Sandwiches come in your choice of brisket, pulled pork, turkey sausage, ham and burnt ends. Other items include specialty sandwiches, ribs and their famous three-bean chili, which is a luxurious stew topped with burnt ends. Woodyards is in Kansas, just over the border and if you can't make it out here, they also provide catering services.

Exceptional in every way!! Kind and courteous staff, outstanding food, and a great "unstuffy" atmosphere. Leave the other "big chain" KC BBQ joints and try the real deal. The pulled pork sandwich with a cold beer is beyond comprehension. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
Chili is FANTASTIC!!! Chicken was to die for (out of wings, though :( It's all good, I'll get them NEXT time!), brisket = heavenly, ribs = scrumptious, turkey = awesome! I could go on and on and on...... OH.... and FIREWOOD!!! Well priced firewood, too! The cherry is burning in my fireplace as we speak! :)

Had the ribs and brisket. They were out of the burnt ends which what I really wanted. I thought the ribs were very good. The taste was not unique, but very good. The brisket when I first glanced at it, looked like ham in color - a pinkish hue - not the beefy colour I expected. It was very moist and tender. It had a good flavor, but again different than I was expecting. I'll go back again.
While the reviews posted on the wall all discussed the "unique" and "interesting" rub that they use on their ribs, I found their ribs to be a bit flavorless. The fact that I found myself smothering the ribs with BBQ sauce is a pretty good sign that these weren't the best ribs in Kansas City. The brisket, pulled pork, and burnt ends were OK (better than the ribs).
