Was referred to Dr. Gooderham for an IUD insertion. At first, she seemed like a compassionate, empathetic individual. She noticed my anxiety, and suggested her programs to me, and I considered exploring it because anxiety does suck and I want to be empowered. Absolutely appalling treatment from the doctor here. After jumping through some hoops with walk-in clinics, I was referred to this doctor with concerns about breast cancer, which was particularly scary because I was 20 weeks pregnant at the time. Upon seeing the doctor, she examined me, told me that she thought I had breast cancer, but that she "couldn't just help anyone off the street" and that I should go to urgent care so that they could order tests for me. I had a very positive experience with Dr. Gooderham during my IUD insertion. The doctor was calm, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the procedure clearly before starting. I felt listened to, respected, and reassured throughout the entire process. The insertion was done professionally and as comfortably as possible, and all my questions were answered patiently. I am not one to typically leave reviews; however, my experience with Dr. Gooderham was such that I had to share my concerns. I was referred for perimenopause concerns. After months of waiting for a referral I attended the intake appointment which was completed in a virtual group setting. I appreciated that a lot of information and resources were provided and Dr. Gooderman was very clear that we as women need to be our own advocates within the health system and that no one was going to do that for us. I got referred to women MD because I'm in perimenopause. I find Dr Gooderham's approach and philosophies to be very helpful. She's very clear that there's no quick fixes to perimenopause and that it's requiring an entire lifestyle overhaul which I'm totally on board for. She runs group video chats so you can learn about things which I found helpful. She's also a pleasant and helpful person and non-judgmental and compassionate.
