I’ve been living at this complex with my husband for the last few months and this place is really a joke. First off, the manager reginald gave us 2 options. Either we get rid of our dog that we’ve had since she was a 6 weeks old or put a bark collar on her. She’s a dog, meaning she’s gonna bark. This review may be long in length but it’s a must read! I am a former tenant who recently (May 2017), broke a year’s lease 7 ½ months into it. There is so much more I could write about in this review but I will stick to what I consider the most “serious” issues associated with living here. Construction! They are not forthcoming on the length, depth, or inconvenience that the on-going renovation project will cause you. This is the worst company to deal with. They made me pay for bills when I do not live in the premises. Now they are holding my deposit and it is past 21 days. when I called them they said they sent me the check and its lost in the mail and that I have to sign an affidavit that if the check was chased I will be responsible. I said I will not sign this because I do not know if the check was written at the beginning. How come I received the bills but not the check..
I have been a resident of the Hunters Glen property owned by Aimco in New Jersey since May 2014. The only reason I'm still a resident as of April 2017 is because I can't afford to move but if I had the opportunity, I would in half a heartbeat. The less important issue is they advertise three resort style pools yet one has been closed since 2015 and the two that remain open are always crowded and dirty. I moved into my apartment in Summer of 2016. I was never given an official move-in form to list damages. I was instead advised by the leasing office to submit a series of maintenance requests with the things I found wrong with the apartment upon arrival. I handed the keys to management on the 25th of March 2017. Before doing so, I asked if a walk-through would be necessary, and I was informed by the leasing office that this was already completed. I am a loyal tenant of 10 years and paid rent at midnight exactly and was charged a late fee. Aimco Apartment Homes Corporate was very cold, insulting and not understanding of the circumstances. It is ridiculous to think I am being charged a late fee eventhough it was paid in full at midnight.
I moved into an Aimco property in May 2016. It is now April 2017 and I have continued to have water/sewer bills for a 1 bedroom, 700 square foot apartment, with 1 tenant for anywhere from $170 to $410. I have called, emailed, gone into the leasing office, and most of the time there is zero communication or simply "we're working on it". It has been nearly a year. I was a resident at an Aimco community for about two years. During that time the property I lived in was not maintained or improved, though rent and the ridiculous fees they tack on continued to rise. Once I decided to move I followed protocol by submitting a notice to vacate, and returned the apartment to cleaner state than it was when I moved in.
