Since my previous review was removed, here is my updated review. Completely unprofessional, not only risking the lives of children who are allergic to her office pets, but does not give the appropriate attention or treatment to children in abusive situations and sides with the abuser. Unethical and disappointing behavior for a mental health professional. Would NOT recommend.. Children leaving this doctors treatment have to get secondary therapy to process grief and trauma caused in her appointments. Too many other reviewers ... read more
Our kids saw her briefly ages 10, 12, and 15 at the time. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Our 12 year old had an anxiety attack in the parking lot before a session and she handled it very poorly. She was forceful with him and yelling at me. All he kept saying was, "I want to go home." He didn't want to see her, and her response was that we had him involved in too many extracurricular activities (guitar lessons once a week and flag football). Shannon genuinely cares for her clients and is a consummate professional. I highly recommend her.
I have been going to see Dr. Wilson for almost a year now and she is a great therapist. My situation is a little different then most and she is very patient and understanding. Would highly recommend Dr. Wilson to anyone who is trying to do what is best for your children.
Her "expert recommendation " placed our grandsons in grave danger. She is NOT to be trusted!
