The Penn Hills Y is outstanding. They don't charge enough for membership and are scheduled to close. I attend 18 classes a month for years with professional instructors and monthly membership is only $45 or, for me, only $2.50 a class. That is not enough to pay the instructors, the light, heat, and power, and maintenance. The entire pricing structure needs updated and simplified or the entire organization is going to close. I've belonged to the PNC YMCA downtown for 18 months now and I love it. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the equipment is new and there is a lot of it, and the facility itself is really nice.
So much for their "Y" for all program. Way to expensive monthly for low income familes.
I just joined today, the staff is great! Went in with my dad to get him more active using his silver sneakers and I walked out a member.
