We visited Willie's for the first time on Sunday to see the SuperSuckers perform. The food and service were stellar! We will definitely be back!
The daily burgoo was smokey and buttery, not a ton of meat and veg but big on flavor. The only thing that would have made the Stiff Willie burger better is a better burger patty. That's not saying the burger wasn't good, it was beautiful ride on my taste buds. The cheesey grits were cooked perfectly and didn't have so much cheese that the grits couldn't be tasted. I loved the donuts in the bread pudding but didn't get much of a custard feel on it. It was more like a monkey bread or cinnamon roll, again, amazing dessert!
I liked it better as a dive on North Broadway. Now they're just trying too hard to be hip. BBQ joints should have an element of filth to them.
We were celebrating a birthday by going to Willies for brunch on Sat. Morning. The food was great but the service was even better. This was my first brunch at Willies but not my first time. Whether it be brunch, lunch or dinner I have never had a less than great service or food. Thank you for always going above and beyond,
Came through on our way to red river gorge. We weren’t familiar with the town but we had our dog and (in the rain) were looking for someplace to stop and dine. Willies answered my phone call promptly and let us know they were dog friendly and had a patio with an awning! Phoebe our server was super knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating to us weerie travelers. Tater tots were killer. Ribs, hot chicken, pulled pork, and brisket were all amazinggg.
