All the previous bad reviews are true. Stay clear of this so called doctor. His residence doctor did more than he did. After he started going over X-rays, the tone in his voice indicated he was not going to do anything. He has the personality of a dead moth.
I am a survivor of domestic violence. A subsequent car accident which exacerbated my spinal injury. If Patients want pleasant convo, go out to mingle! If you want an incredibly competent, skilled, ethical, strong Surgical opinion w/ appropriate care, see Dr. Richardson. There may be no sunshiny convos, but your prognosis and/or your condition will likely greatly improve, if Dr says he can treat you. Life’s reality is often harsh. He has consistent competency. succinct, caring, direct, ethical. Dr Richardson’s surgery seems a... read more
He is a very rude and obnoxious. Instead of him listening to what I was telling him he was more concerned about things that did not relate to my situation. He needs to be seated at the front of the class when it comes to bed side mannerisms. I wouldn't recommend my teddy bear to him.
He has been condescending in all of his communications with me. I hope that patients have better luck with him doing their surgeries. He should probably retire.
I am an 81 year old man. I have suffered with scoliosis in my spine for over 25 years. Several surgeons told me my condition was inoperable. Then I heard of Dr. Richardson a spine surgeon at Duke hospital. Dr. Richardson reconstructed my spine in January 2020. I now have good posture, walking and standing straight up, a 100% improvement, with 80% less pain. Many thanks to Dr. Richardson and Dr. McDonald, credits to their profession and Duke hospital. I was very impressed by my first meeting with Dr. Richardson in March 2018. He listened to me and addressed each question thoroughly. In April I had my cervical spine surgery (neck) . He was very compassionate and talked to me prior to my surgery and held my hand while talking. I knew I was in good hands! After surgery he checked in with me and again was very compassionate. I’m at my 7 week recovery and have been extremely pleased with results thus far. I woul highly recommend Dr. Richardson.
After 2 failed crippling surgeries from other spine drs. Dr Richardson finally made my spine straight and gave me a new self esteem and quality of life. If you want someone to sit and hold your hand Richardson is not your man. If you want someone to correct the problem, let him do what he does best, His Job.
My appointment with Dr. Richardson was one of the WORST experiences of my life! He was hours behind making my wait horrifically painful. No reasons given or apology. He came in the rm asking what was wrong with me. I told him what my previous Dr had told me and he hollered at me "I didn't ask for a diagnosis! Tell me your symptoms!" He acted arrogant, raising his voice at me like he was God and I was not worth his time. He was no help. I proceeded to my car crying & unable to drive for a while.
This doctor may be very knowledgeable in his field, but he has no bedside manner whatsoever. He is extremely harsh and inhuman. He barked orders & repeated them immediately 2-3 times if I didn't respond immediately. (I am not deaf.) He did not take into consideration that I might be in pain or on meds & might not move or respond as quickly as the average person who doesn't suffer back problems. I should have read his poor reviews before making the appt. Instead I wasted my time & very limited $$
