I had my initial appointment with Dr. Cooney and found him to be pleasant, straightforward and decisive about how I should proceed in treating my knee. He gave me all the time I needed. He had been recommended by two people I know who had knee replacements with him. It was a bit hard to get an appointment with him, but the scheduler was very helpful. He is highly sought after, so don't put off calling him!
I would like to say I’m very disappointed with the way I was treated for trying to make an appointment that Dr. Cooney wanted for me to have. I heard that he is the best doctor anyone could have, but i guess i will try to get another for my hips since I’m in a lot of pain.
Dr. Cooney is new to me however he exudes confidence. I trust his judgment and level of expertise. He wasn't over aggressive in treatment of my knee swelling but left open options for the future. Dr. Cooney is younger and more energetic which I like. He wouldn't be on the staff of Front Range Ortho if he wasn't an exceptional physician.

Dr. Cooney is very nice thorough and compassionate about what he does. I believe he really enjoys what he does. I don't feel like I'm just a number and he's not a surgeon just trying to make a buck! He gives alternative options and does not push Surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Cooney.
Dr. Cooney took time to listen to my issue. After surgery he continued to reassure me that I was progressing normally even with my pain.
He has done two knee surgeries on me. At this point I wouldn't trust anyone else to do surgery other than him.
