An amazing surgeon! My total knee replacement went so well I was up and walking without assistance a week after the surgery. Very little post-operative pain. His office and staff, both before and after the surgery, were absolutely phenomenal and very compassionate about my progress. If you're getting a joint replacement, Dr. Byrd is the number one "go to" orthopedic surgeon, hands down.
As usual Dr Byrd is very cordial and listens intently. He will try the easiest path to lessen the pain, but will do the surgery if necessary. My first hip surgery went very smoothly, the other one is coming up.

From the moment I met him I felt very confident that I was in capable hands. He explained the procedure in great detail but at a level I could understand and answered my numerous questions.
