My last visit there, I was checked in, taken to the back, and THEN told they were no longer accepting my insurance. I'd been with this doc over 20 years. No referral for care, zip. I was given the impression that I could come back when I qualified for Medicare in two years. I tapered off meds and have never gone back. Never will.
I have been a patient for years and was pleased with Dr. Whitney. However, his office staff is utterly miserable to deal with, and office visits are now rushed. It is also impossible to speak with Dr. Whitney to get an answer to a brief question without scheduling an appointment for an office visit. To do so would defeat the purpose of asking the question as it concerns a referral made to a surgeon, and the surgeon's scheduling staff does not know the basis of the referral.
Patient, responsive and listens. Good eye contact. I appreciate him a great deal.
We see Dr Whitney for the management of my husband's MS. He and his staff have been wonderful and compassionate. He truly treats us like he would his family. If you are looking for a doctor that will sugar coat things he is not the one for you but if you want good thorough honest care he's it.
worst neurologist that I ever met, before him i was diagnosed with neuropathy, he diagnosed me saying that I had no neuropathy and that it was all in my head, 3rd neurologist diagnosed me with neuropathy which i knew that I had since I was diabetic. When I got his bill in I returned it to him telling him to go back to school and he did not get paid either.
After waiting an hour to see Dr. Whitney, he then took over 1 1/2 hours to do nerve conduction tests on both arms and when I saw the neurosurgeon today to get my problems fixed I now have to see Dr. Martin do have the tests redone because the surgeon said the tests need to be done properly! I couldn't believe how much he talked (about himself) the entire time, so frustrating and a waste of time and money.
