I ate at this place for the first time and it was fantastic! This is truly a hidden gem in Hood River, Oregon. If you ever come and visit this little town be sure and stop at the White Buffalo! The fresh baked bread and bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers are to die for! The staff and service was perfect! Truly wonderful!
The White Buffalo is a great little place in Hood River, easily accessed from I-84. We stopped there for dinner after a day of hiking and wildflower viewing. We were blown away by the quality of the wine, well-crafted food, and warm, unpretentious service from the owner. We were looking for outdoor seating so that our dog wouldn't have to wait in a hot car. The owner invited us to sit on the back patio where we sat at simple picnic tables. Perfect! This place is great! Awesome customer service, phenomenal food, and drinks! I am pregnant do wasn't sure what to drink had a Shirley temple and it was AMAZING! Their bread was so delightful and it was nice to be able to get fresh eggs for our hotel room to make breakfast we also got bread to go and bacon jam so we could make yummy breakfast sandwiches! The atmosphere was nice and it was not super busy when we went either.
We are visiting from out of town and our dinner was amazing! My husband and I shared our dinners. The Chicken Fettuccine was spot on! The chicken browned-caramelized(?) separately and the sauce was creamy perfection with great seasoning! The grownup grilled cheese with bacon and onion jam (maybe a hint of apple?) on crunchy grilled bread! Many thank you’s to your great chef and friendly welcoming staff. PS from my husband the Phriem Japanese Lager was a great choice for these meals.
Great little place. Staff was great. Good choice of wines and beer as well as a bar. Dinner was great, had the spinakopia with a salad. Soooo good. Highly recommend it.
