They are a bit expensive, but I feel they are the best option for keeping the noise down without constructing your own or altering your house. You can also disassemble them fairly easily if you have to move. They aren’t 100% perfect, but they make a HUGE difference in the quality of your audio recordings as well as reducing the noise coming in, or going out!
Whisper Room booth had formaldehyde I bought a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 music practice booth to be installed inside a room in my New York City home. I spoke to the company in some detail before buying it, but there was no mention of offgassing. I've recorded tracks in these whisper room booths before. They are bad to the bone, zero bleed through from the outside; moreover, your neighbors won't hear a thing. I stuck mesa boogie Mark IV 100 watt amp with 4 12" speaker cabinet in this thing and cranked it. Nobody complained during the early morning hrs. Every home studio needs this, hands down.
I recently stepped into one of these to do some voice over work and wow. All I can say is that the quality is superb. I am excited to see just how much better my work will improve with this.
If I do work at a home studio and I walk in and see a whisper room (like this one at a session in LV), I know I can get some work done. If I see DIY Home Depot crap, I’m going to question the whole thing like what else is DIY. I wish more people would use these. Great job whisper room.
They are over priced. Small 4x4 booths cost $4000 is ridiculous. The material is $300-$500. IF THAT MUCH. They are truly getting over on the consumer. You can build an entire studio floor and room for the price of their largest booth. $30k is crazy. I think in order for them to maintain in this new market of engineers, they better cut those prices slightly over half. We can build our own booths now days. So why would we pay that much for yours ?
