Whiskey Cake Kitchen + Bar opened in the Shops at La Cantera in November 2014. We serve funky American Gastropub fare and libations crafted with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. This was better than I expected. We were a group of 8 for my daughter's birthday. Everyone enjoyed cocktails, the goat cheese app, and their entrees. Unfortunately, a member of our party was taken ill, so we didn't get to the namesake Whiskey Cake. Next time!
Went on a Saturday night. It was packed so obviously people love this place. Was my first time. The atmosphere is great, the staff very friendly. It could well earn 5 stars from some. However I am unable to do so on this visit. I ordered a glass of wine and it was great. But it took 20 minutes to get to me. The server appeared overwhelmed and her customer service suffered. Over priced on food and drink takes long time to get ur drink
I made a reservation for my birthday and was seated an hour and 5 minutes later. The food was great and I enjoyed the waiter, but it was my first time visiting Whiskey Cake and was really disappointed in how they handled my reservation. They offered me and my group zero compensation. Will not be returning.

Was there on 7 Jul 18 with 2 friends. We were seated immediately. The food was very good. One friend had a basic burger, one had the short ribs and I had the turkey and cheese sandwich. Our problem was with the server! We had to ask about one of the items on the specials board, instead of telling us about all the specials listed, he simply answered the one question and walked away!
