The Whill CI is marketed as an "Outdoor Explorer", but it really is only good on flat, even surfaces. Using it at Zoo's, Amusement parks, Outdoor Exhibitions, etc., is challenging especially when the area is un-surfaced, potholed or the pathway slopes left to right. the lack of direction on the front wheels can cause a dangerous loss of control. I received my Whill Ci in 10/2019. It is a comfortable chair and easy to drive/maneuver but the battery drains very quickly. It even drained overnight when not in use. I was sent a new battery which did solve the overnight issue, but it still drained faster than expected during the day. Especially since I only use my chair in my 1300 square foot home and out on my patio. My salesman took it to the mall for a few hours to check it out and agreed something wasn’t right. I believed I was purchasing a quality product. I use the chair mostly for shopping and travel and only placed 78 miles on the battery in less than 1-1/2 yrs. Had issues with the chair, brought chair in to distributor where it was checked out by a trained technician and told the $600 battery was the problem. WHILL rebuffed me and refused to replace the battery and I had to pay out of pocket because it’s not covered by insurance and neither was this $4000 chair. RecommendedMy wife owns the Model Ci. It has transformed our travel experiences. The chair is light, maneuverable and gutsy. It takes us the whole family to places we didn't think we could access. Most importantly, Whill is a superb company which recognizes that their products are a necessity to the people that use them. Technical issues are dealt with speedily, effectively and thoroughly.
