What the Pho

About this business

Pho has been described as the “National Dish of Vietnam.” At What the Pho! Restaurants, we could not agree more. Our pho broth is a meticulous twelve-hour process. We use fresh, quality beef bones, whole sides of brisket and flank, traditional herbs, aromatic vegetables and skinless chicken breasts to develop our savory broths. Our lengthy process and careful simmering methods develop a unique, lively flavor. Combined with fresh rice noodles, thinly sliced cuts of eye round steak, brisket and flank, book tripe, t... read more

Quick, hot, good, cheap food. Prompt service. – I love this place, my girlfriends and I meet here about once a week to catch up and eat dinner. There is one waiter who always waits on us, he doesn't need to ask what we want anymore, he just asks if we'd like the usual. We started going here because it's healthy and affordable, we continue to go because we're welcome, our water and tea never goes empty the service is prompt and the soup is always delicious.

Stylin' Pho Joint on the Eastside – Maybe its location influenced its decor. Right in the middle of NE 8th, a block or two away from Bell Square, sits a modern styled pho joint with relatively good food. Its a large deviance from the drab places I've gone to, and believe me..I've been to many. Their pho is a little overpriced, about $6.00 a bowl, but if you factor in the gas in order to get to Than Bros, it's worth it. (you don't get cream puffs here, you can't even order them..I guess you'll have to make that trek if you wa... read more

Best looking PHO place – Pho was pretty tastey. I just recently tried one of their stir-fry dishes and it was great. The rice could have been a little more cooked, but edible and the stir-fry made up for it. I talked to a gentleman seated next to me and he gets this dish almost everyday. It was the Stir-fry with Basil. Service was better than most pho places. Also, the interior was clean.

pricey for a pho joint – pho was not bad but the prawn dishes for dinner served up only 5-6 prawns each (at $9-10), and they weren't even deveined. granted there were lots of fresh vegetables, but seemed rather pricey. would be ok if you just went for the pho (5.95 small, 6.95 for large). they must cook the pho to order because it took a long time to show up at the table.
