RecommendedI highly recommend Dr. Hawkins and his entire team. There has not been a time when I needed him and he hasn’t been there for us and our dogs. He values there health and wellness. He is compassionate and extremely caring about my babies. If I need to be seen he works me in no matter what. Before Dr. Hawkins was my son-in-law he was our veterinarian. Our elderly cat was anxious, scared of men, and had severe gingivitis. Slowly but surely Dr. Hawkins won her over, adjusted her diet, treated her gums and had her acting like a kitten again. Since he’s been a member of our family, he’s had his fair share of late night calls from other family members with questions about their pets. Dr. Hawkins has always gone above and beyond when it comes to our dogs. We recently lost one of ‘our babies’ and we received the sweetest card in the mail that was signed by all of the staff. Those are the kind of things that mean so much when you are dealing with such a huge loss! He diagnosed one of our dogs with Cushing’s disease. Not the vet for me anymore! To me, losing a pet is like a death in the family and I want my vet to understand that. Ending a pet's life should be just as important, if not more so, to a veterinarian. I feel like Dr. Hawkins sees euthanasia as just another business transaction that he needs to cram into his schedule. My Sadie girl has been a patient at Westside animal hospital for several years now, we love Dr. Wilkes. He is a great veterinarian to our fur baby. Recently, there has been a change in front staff. The new girls at the front seem to not pay attention to details. My dog has Cushings disease and has to take a pill daily at 7am. I went to purchase her pills for the month, which aren’t cheap and luckily, when I got home I had one pill left to compare to the new pills given to me. I Love this office. They are so helpful and comforting. The staff and Dr. Hawkins are so nice and answered all of our questions. We had a huge emergency. We didn't even call we just ran in there. Thank you to everyone in that office. All of you were heaven sent that day!!🐕🐕
I worked at Westside for 10 years with Dr. Gary Wilkes. He gave me my first job working in the veterinary community which led to a 30 year career. Best ten years of my life.
