My daughter and I just left Western Wake Pediatrics in Cary and things have changed. I have been taking my kids there for years and had no problems except with vaccine pushing. Today, they didn’t want to see my daughter without a COVID test because she had a slight cough and had a mask. They suggested I reschedule her for a “sick” visit when she was there for a health assessment. Hard Time with Appointments While I have been pleased with our pediatrician, this place is run with one thing in mind MONEY...The only schedule flu shots during a certain time each day which happens to be when the kids are in school. What sillyness. They also won't book evening/afternoon appointments in the morning you have to call back after 1:30PM. What more sillyness. Aren't they a pediatrician who serves kids who are generally in school. Please...
The Best Peds Practice in NC!!!! My son was born 9 weeks prematurely and started seeing Dr. Ferrall when he was just out of the NICU in the fall of 2000. We've been coming ever since and have been seen by most of the Drs in the practice at one time or another. Everyone - Drs, nurses and staff - have always been extremely helpful and super polite. We plan to stay with this practice until our son goes to college!! The best in NC!!
Too much hassle. I love Dr. Smith and Dr. Ferrall, but can't justify the hassle we have to go through to see them anymore. We have had a lot of difficulty with appointments - having to wait three months or more for well visits and then having the appointment time or the doctor we requested changed without being notified. I agree that the Walk-in clinic is a joke. If you're not there when the door opens, you will not get one of the very few appointments they have available. I like them!!!!!! I recently moved here from NY & came across WWP via my son's insurance co. I have a 10 year old, whom up to this point has been healthy (knock on wood). I scheduled a physical (& first visit) & was assigned to Dr. Smith. I felt that he spent an ample amount of time talking to me & most importantly my son. My child is asthmatic & he discussed several things with us to "look out for", etc. Their hours are a little silly. Very Good Doctors I have used this practice for over 20 years and I am very happy with them. They respect me and my kids and always are helpful and friendly. I am grateful for all they have done for me.
Recommend Doctors but not Practice The doctors are fine, but the staff has been at best unhelpful on several occasions over scheduling & billing issues. The Walk-in clinic is a joke - don't waste your time. It's supposed to run from 7:45 to 8:30, however I got there at 7:50 and was told they didn't have any more walk-in spots left (they only have 6 available) and had to wait in their waiting room with a sick child until 9:30 for a regular appointment.
Love the Drs. Hate the practice.. Love the Drs. Hate the practice... I took a child in for a wellness visit. Received the H1N1 vaccine. On the way out stopped at the scheduling desk to setup a time to get my other child the vaccine. They said they didn't have any. Do they think I'm a moron?
Not recommended My husband and I have been having issues with this practice since day 1, since our child was born, and have been contemplating of moving our child to other practice ever since. Most of the doctors we've seen have been arrogant and condescending to us. We both are educated people, although not in medical field, but they treated us as if we were idiots who never went to school and our opinions were of no consequences.
