This is a beautiful brewery, well thought out and a joy to just sip a beer and look at. The restaurant and brewery go together seamlessly and the aesthetics of the Beetle Kill Blue Pine wood is just the right touch. The Westbound & Down burger was the best we've had in a long long time, served on some really hip plates. Tried the Miner Street Wheat and the Denver Day Trip Pale Ale. RecommendedMy son and I were visiting from KC and staying with some friends in Denver for a few days. We made the short trip to Idaho Springs for some Sunday brunch and a little sports watching at the Buffalo/Westbound and Down. I'm sure all the reviews are saying the same thing, but they have simply nailed it with this place. Through my years of traveling west to ski or for summer vacations to the mountains, the Buffalo was frequently a great place to stop for some grub and beer. We stopped in on a weekday after skiing at Loveland - love this place! Great service, great atmosphere & staff, beer & food, and a great addition to a familiar strip. Much needed. Get a crowler to go after you enjoy some chili or fried chicken. We will be back...

I love this place as a pit-stop for dinner on the way up to the mountains or, to catch some Sunday football games on the way home to Denver from skiing. Must-trys on the menu: Westbound chili (pulled, slow cooked beef instead of ground) and OMG the biscuits (drizzled with honey!), they've got a great homemade(!!) veggie burger, and the fried chicken we ordered was gone in literally 5 seconds...crispy perfection. The Genie is out of the bottle (keg). An oasis is the concrete jungle. I-70 at Idaho Springs. WOW...who knew! Gonna make driving a whole lot nicer knowing we can stop in for good food and fresh brewed hops
