I've been with them for several years. I am never disappointed with any visits! Just recently I've had to take 2/3 of my pets within a month. Both unplanned visits. I was able to squeeze in an appointment for my cat who had been in a fight and had bad bite wounds. But the one that really hits home is my dog had badly bent his dew claw. They stayed open late for me, they saw him very last minute. He was treated no differently than the first patients of the day! They actually care about each pet and get to know each animal. They saw us and our kitten under short notice for an emergency and took us in like we were family. They go to great lengths to make your pet comfortable and always inform you of everything's cost before doing anything.
I'm a first time dog owner and had no idea what was happening when my dog was reverse sneezing ( I've never even heard of that before) I called and front desk staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and didn't judge me about my mini panic attack.

I had my cat for over 17 1/2 years. He was with me through deaths in my family, flew across the country, me and was my companion. On April the 14th, when he was 19, I took him to this place for the first time. He was severely dehydrated. Dr. Janssen gave a "guarded" diagnosis and expressed reluctance to take a blood sample because of a severe heart murmur. They i indicated they would call me in half an hour. Everyone at the clinic is friendly, welcoming, and kind. The animals can sense they are trying to help them. My eldest cat was terrified of other vets she had gone to, but not Dr. Jansen and Mary. I just recommended them to a co-worker of mine. I moved out of Des Moines and I drive the hour (one-way) every year for the check ups. I can't imagine going anywhere else!
