After searching for months at shelters we walked in and found our boy here! It was luck of the draw we got him he had been put up for adoption that day after being saved from a high kill shelter in Virginia. Everyone there was wonderful and they were fair with their fees and requirements. Loved loved them!

By far the cleanest, most friendly shelter I have ever been to! The staff know the animals so well and matched the perfect dog with my mother. She is over the moon! If you are looking for a dog or cat, this is the place to go! I will be going back for sure!

I just adopted my cat from Mt Pleasant and I could not be happier with the staff or my new found best friend. Firefly, now Thelonius Monk or "Monk" as we call him, is the sweetest and most pleasant cat I could ask for and I cannot thank the staff enough for their flexibility and kindness through the adoption process. Would definitely recommend this shelter to anyone looking for their new best friend. Keeping doing the good work Mt. Pleasant!

This is one of the cleanest shelters I've ever been to. Anytime I've been there, there's always a ton of knowledable staff willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have. My fiance and I just adopted a dog from there yesterday and the adoption process went great. They really care about their animals and love what they do. I would highly recommend them.

My boyfriend and I rescued our third pup yesterday. The shelter staff was so helpful, friendly, and loving. They were quick to respond to any emails etc. We appreciated how smoothly the adoption process went !! Ottis is a GREAT little pup and has made our little family whole. He had an amazing first night. Thank you MPAS for bringing our little boy into our lives. #adoptdontshop.

I've adopted my two kitties from Mt Pleasant, 3 years apart and both times I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful, which made the process even more exciting! Cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of Oscar and Olive (formerly Thor and Cora) while they were at the shelter, those two bring so much happiness to my days!
