Yesterday around 6:30pm I was waiting to cross the street at Milwaukee/North/Damen. I heard someone yelling and saw the driver of a "Wells Automotive Services" tow truck screaming and swearing at a group of cyclists waiting in front of him at the RED light. He wanted them to move so he could turn right while the light was red, at an intersection with a "NO TURN ON RED" sign, AND pedestrians crossing. If you are a women don't call Wells. Their tow truck drivers talk down to women. The driver Doug decided to lecture me after he was 40 minutes that I had an attitude and he could just leave if I didn't change it. I'm guessing customer service is not to high up on their list of traits they look for in their employees. Luckily there are numerous tow truck companies out there that know how to interact with a women. Needless to say I will never use Wells again.

BAD ACTORS!!!! Called to set up towing, when I called back 10min later to ask if cancellation was an option they said $45 fee & phone was cutoff before I could respond. When I called back (they did not) & talked to the manager he said they had sent driver to another location and claimed I had cancelled which I NEVER HAD. I requested that they still come and the manager told me "I have the right to refuse service and I'm going to do it in this case" which made me incredulous. Bottom line: I was stuck with a $45 fee in return ... read more

Buyer Beware – Bottom line -- do not trust them. They were dispatched by my roadside assistance provider to tow me and made me agree to have the work done by them before they would tow and store my car.

Expensive – $75/day to keep your car here if they aren't given the go ahead to fix it. if you want to take to another place, you better pay the balance of towing + inspection fee. prices to fix are crazy high. i called around and had quotes about $200 cheaper and the quotes were free. their's cost $60 but they don't tell you that. frank is a nice guy who will talk your ear off to make you like him, then they'll drop the hammer with their estimate. go elsewhere.

wells automotive will BREAK YOUR CAR!!! – I originally called for roadside assistance changing a tire. The guy they sent out put a hydraulic jack under my car and when he lifted it, I heard a pop. Now my brakes grind and there's a thump when i turn the wheel. I tried talking to them about fixing the damage they caused, but they refused saying it was preexisting. They didn't even call me to let me know this, I had to CALL THEM BACK to find out. DO NOT USE wells automotive!!!! They will break your car!!!

Great Service- Very Honest – I read what others had to say about this place and think you all must be nuts. I have a BMW 745 that is out of warranty. I took my car to this place because the BMW dealerships kept raping me. Frank, the owner of this place fixed my car for pennies on the dollar. He also told me that things the BMW dealership told me needed fixing didn't. I also learned that this guy is a Master Scout with the Boy Scouts and provides food, shelter and furniture for the poor. Saved me $$$! – I brought my car in because the check engine light was on and the car was running like crap. Frank told me that he would check the car out and let me know what is wrong. I was expecting to receive a call with a big estimate and boy was I shocked when he called me back. Frank informed me that my car had a broken vacuum line that was causing my problem. The car was fixed and was ready for pick up all for $60.00! The car is running like new again. Thanks guys and see you in cheeseland!

MOTOR REPAIR FACILITY THAT JUMPS STARTS A CAR BACKWARDS??? – DO YOU SEE THAT ONE STAR? TAKE THAT ONE STAR AND PUT A NEGATIVE SIGN IN FRONT OF IT. THEY DO NOT DESERVE ZERO STARS... I called to get a ROUTINE jump start to my car. They sent a kid- his name is ROLANDO out to jump start the car, with cables hooked up to a Jeep that was older than he was- not a professional jump start kit, but basic cables that one can get anywhere like Wal-Mart or Target!
