I have seen Dr. Barrera for over 20 years and it does take a good while to see him but I feel it is worth the wait. He has a great memory, time to listen and can explain medical conditions and medications in laymen s terms. He has helped me and my husband through lots of illnesses, allergies, flu's and surgery's. He has even helped us when traveling and needed extra medications for attitudes, etc. He always recognizes his patients and cares about you health. Fast on getting refills.
I have never met a doctor who is more unprofessional than Dr. Barrera. While waiting for over 2 hours to be seen by the doctor I had to undergo the horrible experience of hearing in a room with closed doors the booming voice of the doctor screaming at another patient. Regardless of what the issue was I do not think that there is any excuse for a doctor to scream at a patient.
I would recommend for everyone who cares about their health to stay away from this office!! My mother has been seeing this doctor for at least 20 years! She had an appointment on 8/11/16. The rude receptionist of Lupe told my 79 year old mother that she had a different doctor on her insurance plan. But that's not true! My mother said she would do private pay. Lupe refused to allow her to do that! My mother passed away 13 days later. My mom passed away on 8/24/16. She was denied treatment!
My mother had an appt at 3.30 today, at 5.30 she was informed that there were 5 people still in front of her. When she asked the front desk why they didn't schedule 30 minute appt like every body else, she was informed that they don't do that . Basically if you have all day to kill then by all means go to dr Barrera . My mother will be looking for another dr. By the way, this is the rule not an exception at his office.
I'm here for an appointment, I've waited for over one hour, I haven't been seen yet.
