Found out the hard way this is the type of gym that makes it impossible to cancel, and will bill you out of the blue months later for a membership that you canceled. I cancelled my month to month membership over the phone, never set foot in the place again,...only to get a collections bill for a huge sum, MONTHS later during the week CO-VID 19 had shut down gyms (making it conveniently impossible for me to reach the gym directly to dispute this.) DOCUMENT EVERYTHING IN WRITING.
Unsanitary, overpriced, scammy. I was a member there last summer. It was nice when I started but quickly declined as they became short-staffed. The indoor pool was often so dirty it was cloudy. On two occasions my skin smelled disgusting after exiting the pool. I developed strange bumps on my hands that disappeared after leaving the club. The same piles of hair left and bandages in the steam room for days on end which proved the staff lied to me when they told me it was cleaned nightly. I reached out to cancel my membership recently. You need to give at least one month’s notice, so I was slated to pay one more month in dues - April 2020. They just charged me for that month, even though we are in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis and the gym is closed. Additionally, the FAQ section on their website says they will not be charging dues for people who have canceled their membership during this time. Dont waste your time here. i asked questions in Sept 2019. After getting a high volume of calls from them (literally everyday) I went to the High Point location and was told I was signing up for a trial membership. Mind you, I saw the ad on Facebook. Gave my information and was told a trainer would be in touch with me, which to this day has never happened. RecommendedBeen a member for years and can’t wait until it reopens. The pool is very good and not usually too crowded (oops, I probably should not have said it, the weight room and bikes. Nothing to complain about except that it—like all the others in town—is closed now.
It's Saturday morning and I'm gearing up to meet my trainer, Justin Montoya, for a workout. I travel for work during the week and Justin is willing to work with me on the weekend...even on his birthday. Happy Birthday Justin!!! #thankfulformytrainer @highpointsw
