Dr. Burkhead has performed total reverse shoulder replacements on both my shoulders. He, his staff and the surgery center staff all are extremely well trained and very caring! I highly recommend him for any shoulder issues!

I had a broken arm and in repairing it my rotator cuff was destroyed. I got numerous recommendations to correct the serious problem and 90+% of those were for Dr. Buz Burkhead at Carrel Clinic. He had to do a reverse shoulder replacement for which he is the acknowledged expert. He thoroughly explained exactly what the issues were and how he proposed to correct them. Dr. Burkhead was incredibly informative and patient with me as I had many concerns with proceeding with shoulder surgery. He and his staff explained the surgery, therapy and expectations. I was beyond thrilled with the results of the surgery on my left shoulder that I proceeded forward with repair of my right (2.5 years after my left). Dr. Burkhead is World Renowned and his approach to resolve the problems in both of my shoulders was exactly what was needed. Dr. Burkhead has done rotator cuff surgery on my late husband and on both of my shoulders. I would not consider any other surgeon to see or use for any shoulder or elbow issue. I am currently having issues with my right shoulder/arm (previous rotator cuff tear was repaired by Dr. Burkhead in March of 2012. Not sure yet if my current issue requires surgery or even what the diagnosis will be until I get an MRI--whatever the issue turns out to be, I will use Dr. Burkhead to fix the problem...
