Great food and great service. One of our favorites on the island. The pecan encrusted Texas Red Snapper was fantastic. Wonderful view off the back pier. We missed Kirsten, whos the best server there. She was graduating from A&M.
We didn't have dinner- only appetizers and drinks. Both were goodand the outside deck was perfect. The service was slow, which was ok since we were not in a hurry. We will be back to catch a sunset, hopefully.
Ate there Friday evening. Arrived 7pm, looked like approximately 50% capacity, no waitstaff showed up at our table for 10 minutes. Took 35 minutes after ordering to get three hamburgers. Had to get our own silverware, some drink refills, condiments. Burgers were very good (as they always have been). Both tables either side of our table sent food back and complained to manager about slow service. We live on the West End, and this used to be our favorite restaurant but not anymore. Too bad, it was a good run.
There are a lot of recent negative reviews, but in our case, both the service and the food were excellent. That said, we were there very early in the evening and maybe the waitstaff and the cooks had time to do a great job. The crab cake and crab-stuffed mushrooms I had were great. Linda liked her fried catfish (and there were two extra large fillets).
The fresh greenbeans were cooked to perfection. Husband had pasta with shrimp & loved it. I had the grilled shrimp. It was good, but a little bland for my taste. Needed some type of seasoning. Service was great. Our waitress was very nice & attentive. We will visit again next time we visit Galveston.
